Mug recipes are popular mostly because they are an easy way of satisfying your food cravings without any food wastage and any fancy equipment. Secondly, mug recipes are easy and quick. Even a person with absolutely zero culinary skills can whip up a deliciously flavorful mug recipe from scratch by simply following a recipe.
What do I need to create this Amazing Keto Mug Cake Recipes?
For the recipes I share here, you will only need a beautiful microwave-safe mug. You will also need a good microwave if you don’t already have one. Can I make my Keto Mug Cake Recipes in the oven?
The simple answer to this is YES! but remember you need oven-proof mugs for this and you can get them from the recommendations I made above. To make these recipes in the oven, just double up the quantities and use a casserole or oven-proof baking dish. It’s worth noting though, most mug recipes take less than 5 mins in the microwave, and when made using an oven take a little bit longer (10 – 15 minutes). So the choice is ultimately yours depending on the yield you want to make.

KETO PEANUT BUTTER MUG CAKE

A single serving of a microwave peanut butter mug cake requires only three ingredients. It’s quick, easy, low-carb, and gluten-free and is also keto-friendly.
INGREDIENTS FOR A KETO PEANUT BUTTER MUG CAKE
- 2 ½ Tbsp natural creamy unsalted peanut butter
- 2 ½ tsp Natural Mate All Purpose Granular Stevia or sugar substitute of your choice equivalent to 1 Tbsp + 2 tsp sugar
- 1 large egg
INSTRUCTIONS TO MAKE A KETO PEANUT BUTTER MUG CAKE
- In a microwave-safe mug that can hold at least 12 oz of liquid, add all ingredients. Mix with a whisk until batter is completely smooth and egg is fully incorporated with no egg streaks remaining. Your batter should look like melted peanut butter.
- Cook in the microwave at full power for about 1 minute. I used a 1000 watt microwave.
- You may need to adjust cooking time and power if your microwave is a different wattage. Cake is best enjoyed warm.

- ¼ tsp. pure vanilla extract
- Optional, chocolate chips or sugar-free chocolate chips
INSTRUCTIONS FOR BAKING
- Combine all ingredients in a greased ramekin or small mug.
- Either bake in a preheated 350F oven for about 10 minutes or cook in the microwave. If microwaving, time will vary depending on wattage and desired gooeyness. I started with 30 seconds and then added two 15-second intervals after that.
- The cake will look a bit gooey when it comes out, and it firms up as it cools. But there’s no need to wait for it to firm up too much — this cake is meant to be eaten straight from the mug!

Keto Mug muffins and keto mug cakes are some of the most convenient keto-friendly meals. They can be made both sweet and savory and take just a few minutes to prepare. For those of you that may not have a microwave, I included some tips for baking the muffins in the oven.
INGREDIENTS KETO SALMON & CREAM CHEESE MUG MUFFIN
Basic savory mug muffin mix:
- ¼ cup almond flour (25 g / 0.9 Oz)
- ¼ cup flax meal (38 g / 1.3 Oz)
- ¼ tsp. baking soda
- 1 large egg, free-range or organic
- 2 Tbsp. cream or coconut milk
- 2 Tbsp. water pinch salt
Add: 60 g smoked salmon (2.1 Oz) 2 Tbsp. freshly chopped chives or spring onion serve with 2 dollops of full-fat cream cheese or sour cream (60 g / 2.1 oz) If you need to make this keto mug cake recipe nut-free, use more flax meal (same amount) or coconut flour (half the amount). When using ingredients, always go by their weight, especially in the case of baked goods. Measures such as cups may vary depending on a product/brand. When looking for ingredients, try to get them in their most natural form (organic, without unnecessary additives).
INSTRUCTIONS FOR BAKING
- Place all the dry ingredients in a small bowl and combine well.
- Add the egg, cream, water and mix well using a fork.
- Slice the smoked salmon and finely chop the chives. Add to the mixture and combine well. 04. Microwave on high for 60-90 seconds. When done, top with a dollop of cream cheese and enjoy!
- Tips for cooking in the oven: If you don’t have a microwave, I suggest you make 4-8 servings at once. Preheat the oven to 175 °C/ 350 °F and cook for about 12-15 minutes or until cooked in the center.

- Add the two large eggs, melted butter, and almond milk to the dry ingredients. Mix together.
- Add the cake batter to a greased coffee mug. You’ll need one that holds at least 12 ounces.
- Cook the mug in the microwave for about 2 minutes. Cooking time may vary with your microwave. Usually, I know it’s done when the cake starts puffing up over the top of the mug.
- Remove the finished cake from the mug and slice in half to serve.
